Therapy that
feels human.

I’m Laura, a relational psychotherapist and counsellor, and I offer counselling in Beverley, in person, online or by phone. Because no two people are the same, I shape how we work around you, drawing on whatever helps you feel most at ease.

Sometimes what we need most is simply to be heard. My work is built on listening: to your story, your worries and the parts of you that often go unnoticed. There’s no judgement here and no clinical distance. Just a warm, safe space where you can be fully yourself, at your pace.

When talking doesn't come easily

Here’s a worry I hear a lot: “What if I don’t know what to say?” or “I’ve never been any good at talking about feelings.”

That’s completely okay, and it doesn’t mean therapy isn’t for you. Talking is one way in, but it isn’t the only one. Some of us make far more sense of things when we can see them or sort them rather than explain them out loud.

So alongside talking, we can work in more creative, visual ways: choosing postcards to find words for a feeling, moving buttons around to make sense of the people in your life, mapping things on a simple timeline. It reaches somewhere deeper than talking alone, and there’s never any pressure to work in a way that doesn’t feel right for you.

My story: How therapy changed my life

Starting therapy changed everything for me. It gave me room to understand myself, feel heard and begin to heal. Because I’ve sat in that chair too, I know how much it matters to have someone truly listen.
